Direct-Heating Hot Water Heat Pump

I. Product Overview

The direct-heating hot water heat pump is a high-efficiency energy-saving unit specifically developed for commercial hot water applications. Its core feature is "instant hot water on demand"—cold water entering the unit is heated directly to the set temperature in a single pass, without the need for circulating and reheating. It is suitable for hot water supply in various commercial buildings including hotels, hospitals, schools, and apartment complexes.

II. Working Principle

The unit operates on the reverse Carnot cycle, using a small amount of electrical energy to drive the compressor, extracting low-grade heat from the air and upgrading it to high-grade heat for water heating.

The fundamental difference from circulating-type heat pumps lies in the water system design: mains water enters the main unit's condenser directly, where it undergoes a single heat exchange with the high-temperature refrigerant. The temperature instantly rises to the set point (typically 55–60°C) and flows out directly for immediate use. Water supply is delivered using the mains water pressure itself, requiring no circulating pump. This design results in a simpler system structure and easier installation.

III. Core Features

Instant Hot Water with Fast Response:
Cold water is heated to the set temperature in a single pass—no need to wait for a storage tank to preheat. Hot water is available immediately upon opening the tap, making it particularly suitable for locations with high-concentration hot water demand during peak usage periods.

Stable Outlet Water Temperature:
With precise flow regulation via an electronic expansion valve, the outlet water temperature is maintained within ±1°C of the set value—eliminating temperature fluctuations and delivering a superior user experience compared to traditional water heating equipment.

High Efficiency and Low Operating Costs:
The system eliminates the circulating pump and complex piping, resulting in a simple and efficient design. The large temperature difference between cold water and the high-temperature refrigerant enables a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of over 3.8, with significantly lower operating electricity costs compared to electric boilers and oil-fired boilers.

Stable Operation and Extended Service Life:
With inlet water temperature close to ambient, compressor discharge temperature variations are minimal, ensuring stable operating conditions. This avoids the high discharge temperatures that circulating heat pumps experience during high-temperature operation, extending the equipment's service life.

Pressurized Water Supply with Flexible Installation:
Direct water supply using mains water pressure meets the demands of high-rise buildings. The unit can be installed on rooftops, at ground level, or in basements—offering flexible placement. There is no need for large-volume storage tanks, saving valuable building space.

Environmentally Friendly with Carbon Reduction:
The unit uses environmentally friendly refrigerants, operates without combustion or emissions, and contributes to the green and low-carbon objectives of buildings.

IV. Main Applications

The unit is suitable for guest room bathing hot water supply in hotels, hostels, and bed-and-breakfast establishments; central domestic hot water in school dormitories and hospital inpatient departments; central hot water systems in residential communities; and hot water needs in commercial establishments such as fitness centers and bathhouses. Additionally, it can be used for process heating and cleaning water in food processing, laundry services, and related fields.
